Steven Michael Pellegrini grew up in the small rural town of Phillipston, located in the north central area of Massachusetts. Steven attended Phillispton Elementary School and then Narragansett Regional Middle and High Schools where he graduated in 2010. Most of Steven's time growing up here would be spent enjoying lifelong friendships and studying in school, doing what most kids do. He would always be looking for something to do, not able to just sit still, and usually came up with interesting adventures with his friends. Many times it was just being the funny guy, talking about everything to anybody, or just joking around with everyone he was with.
Steven would become an avid traveler. He traveled from the 1st month of his life until the last day he was with us. Traveling was something he started early on with his parents but then due to his Grandparents moving, it became a typical summer trip or vacation. Steven spent many summers and School vacations in different parts of the country and even had the profound pleasure of sailing around the Mediterranean Sea during 5 different summers. He would sail with his grandparents during his summer vacations along the coasts of France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and the Greek Islands, and Turkey. Steven even sailed over to Africa and visited Tunisia, a place he talked about endlessly. He was the tour guide when other family members came for a week or two and helped with navigating the seas fondly with his Papa.
At 9 years old, Steven started his Tae Kwon Do journey and would continue for the next 10 years. During his years of training and competing, which also required traveling the country, Steven would win many metals and certificates. The family oriented, confident building, and inspiring competition in New England along with the Jr TKD Olympic Championships in various parts of the country was his life lesson. Steven became a Black Belt in TKD in 2006, training with Grand Master Bryan Lagimoniere at Athol Martial Arts Academy. His training helped shape the genuine, kind, and loving personality he was known so passionately for.
Steven eventually moved to Miami at the end of 2014 with the company he worked for and began exploring the exciting field of Modeling after making numerous friends in this fast paced career. He was a natural and a very good looking young man. In March of 2016, Steven decided to leave his full time job and make his move to become a model and pursue his dream of Hollywood when tragedy struck and he was killed in a single car accident. It was March 17, 2016, a shock to an entire community and to friends all over the country. Steven's passion was to be in the movies or theater, to be in the spotlight and become a personality to be remembered. Ironically he already was famous in the eyes of many but didn't really know it.
Growing up in a small Massachusetts town, Steven will always be fondly remembered as that funny, outgoing, always caring friend you had to be around. Never a dull moment, always making you laugh on any day, in any situation, all the time. Steven was voted most Dramatic in High School. Putting a smile on everyone's face was Steven's claim to fame and would become his legacy, and so with that we wish to continue bringing a smile to someone in need with the help of this Scholarship.
